We are thrilled to announce that at 8:25 this morning, Monday, April 14th 2008, Matewos officially became "Zboy" (not his REAL name) and a US citizen! We are so happy to have passed this final hurtle in our adoption journey and to officially become his parent in the eyes of the State of Alaska and the United States of America. We have been his parents in the eyes of Ethiopia and in our hearts much, much longer.

The boy of the hour was unimpressed by all the pomp and circumstance involved in the court proceedings and spend equal time screaming at the top of his lungs and running back and forth in the jury gallery. We have a couple of very poor pictures of us holding a screaming boy with the judge. All of our local family was present for the occasion and we went out for a celebratory breakfast afterword.

We'd like to thank you all for your support and encouragement over this long process. We're finally DONE!
