NPR Newsletters

One of the things I struggle with as the parent of an African child is finding ways to broaden my mind and educate myself about the issues facing black people in the US and around the world. Since most of the media is mostly focused on white people and comes from a white privileged point of view, I’ve been looking for other ways to stay informed about what is going in the world from an African American prospective.

One tool I use is my daily newsletter from NPR. A friend told me about it and a couple of weeks ago I subscribed to the News and Notes Daily: African American Perspectives with Farai Chideya newsletter. I’ve found this to be a great resource to help me keep on top of what is going on around the country that affects the AA community.

For those of you who are parenting AA children or are in the adoption process, what resources do you like for information from the AA perspective?
